Laptop Thieves! Beware!

Another laptop gone!

It has bring to my attention that thieves now have the technical means to identify electrical products hidden anywhere within a vehicle INCLUDING THE BOOT??!!!! Laptop coumputers being the main target.

The question again and again raises in my mind, do thieves really do have the ability to detect laptop computers hidden anywhere in a car? How do this detector works? Detecting ELECTRONICS PARTS? Aren’t there a whole lot of car parts nowadays that are at least partly electronic?

Restaurant Review: Farmland Porridge Steamboat

This is actually a week late since my family and I went last Sunday to celebrate an early birthday for my mom. Its not the first time that we’ve been to the place (but I suppose that goes to show that the food is quite good… or at least special) but I figure its worth a mention. I would include some pictures but I left my camera in the car (I actually thought I left it at home… forgetful me).

GotW: Insaniquarium Deluxe 1.0

Way back when I was in university, I used to download games and share them with my fellow uni-mates. Well, I don’t see any harm resurrecting that practice and recommending games to anyone who happens to read this. We are, afterall, bored workers. And what cheers bored workers more than games that suck the time out of our wasted lives?

Restaurant Review: Bangkok Jazz

I usually go home for dinner on a Thursday night. However, since WL noticed an ad in a magazine saying HSBC credit card holders were entitled to 50% dicounts at Bangkok Jazz Thai Restaurant and Bistro, we decided to give it a go. Neither WL nor I hold a HSBC cc, so we dragged her sister along. Forgive the photos if they are a little dark cause it was a fine dining restaurant with dim lighting and I didn’t dare to use too much flash.

Malaysia Working Holiday Scheme

One of my colleague is leaving us to New Zealand. Anyone heard of Working Holiday Scheme and is interested to join?

Personally, i am interested. But, question arise, am I willing to leave my current job and my family for a period of 6 months - 2 years? Some will say go for it we are still young. Some will say think twice for your career.

Other than UK (2 years), New Zealand (6 months), where else?

Google Earth And Maps

Ever wanted to know more about the geography of an area that you know of? Ever wished that you had access to actual images and landscapes of places that you intend to visit during your holidays instead of simple block maps? Well, here’s your chance to get a glimpse of the world from above via Google Earth. Google describes it as a 3D interface to the planet. It consists of a nifty piece of software by Google that shows you the globe and provides you with an interface that allows you to zoom in for a closer look. You can read all the nitty gritty details at Google Earth’s webpage. However, if you want to simply dive in without knowing everything, here are the instructions.

Cheap Domain Names And Web Hosting

When I was looking to purchase Boredworkers.com, I found it difficult to get a good bargain on domain names inspite of the many, many, many options that were available. As always with the internet, it was information overload. A quick search on google turned up a large number of offers, not all of which were good and reliable. So how does one sieve through all this information and decide on the best bargain for their needs? I really don’t know an answer to that one. However, it seems that Price is a common theme and Cheap is the order of the day. Below is a compilataion of links that may or may not help in finding that perfect bargain.

Potholes! Screw You!

Its 10:58pm and I just got home from a very eventful day. I dropped WL off earlier after work and was heading home when I struck a pothole going 50km/h. All a sudden I get squeky sounds from my left front tyre and the car keeps drifting off-centre. Pulled over at the shoulder to take a look and found a very flat tyre.

Spitfire Grill and Stuff

Tuesday found WL and I having a continental and indian buffet dinner at a place called Spitfire. The restaurant and grill is located directly opposite Federal Hotel along Jalan Bukit Bintang. We had to drive around twice before finding a parking space along Jalan Aloh and taking a 5 minute walk to to the restaurant proper. The good news was that the parking was free. Anyway, we had read about the place from some flyers the night before and WL was looking forward to some roast lamb. Unfortunately, when we lifted the lids of the buffet spread, we didn’t find any lamb on the menu. Instead, here’s what they served:
