Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire - The Movie
Ok, so I haven’t yet been to see the movie. However, I have read all six Harry Potter books and this, I found, was the best. Books to movies don’t always live up to expectations and the Harry Potter series is not exempt. The first two movies were fairly good but the third was a flop (IMHO) in every sense of the word. And for that reason, I am excited to see what they have in store for us in the fourth installment; whether they do the best book justice or once again, disappoint the fans and continue to prove the stigma right.
Harry Potter 4 premiered in London on Sunday (06-11-2005) and the young cast was in attendance along with a host of stars. It was such a popular event that fans were given the chance to watch the red carpet session of the premiere online. Too bad I was out of town. But that’s really besides the point. The movie has received alot of publicity as of late. And from what I’ve read since the premiere, the movie seems to have lived up to fan expectations. That is good news. It makes me want to see the movie even more. But for movie buffs in Malaysia, we won’t get the opportunity to watch the movie until 16th November 2005 when it premieres locally. But unless you can get your mits on those special invites, you’ll have to wait for 17th November 2005 to catch Harry, Ron, Hermione, Krum, Fleur, Cho Chang, Dumbledore, Hagrid and all the other characters in action.
So in light of that occasion, this is an open invitation for anyone who wants to join me in catching the movie on the Sunday (20th November 2005) after the Malaysian premiere. Those who are interested, kindly leave your mark or contact me to confirm your attendance. If you don’t know my number, that’s really your problem. Since I’m on leave from 16th through to 20th November, my plan is to purchase the tickets on Wednesday or Thursday depending on availability.
So once again, the details:

Yes, I did indeed watch the preview and trailers. It looks good. The poster with the 4 on Harry’s back looked kinda silly (yes, I know there’s more than 1 meaning to the #4) but everything else looked great. Main cast looks good but they could have done better in casting the ‘beautiful’ people.

Nola. Sister’s wedding is on Saturday (19-11-05). Speaking of which, time to give it some publicity. This calls for a blogpost.

[…] Sunday has come and gone. The invite for catching the newest installment of Harry Potter (HP) resulted in multiple cancellations. At the end, only 6 of us went (Sai Keun and Carol, Tebu and Kai Vern [is the spelling right?], WL and myself). I tried reserving the tickets but, believe it or not, the Golden Screen Cinema (GSC) phone lines were engaged until 1am Friday and by the time I got through, it was fully booked. Call me unlucky. I went personally to purchase the tickets and managed to secure six fifth row seats for the noon show. […]
