eGenting Programming Competition Public Lecture And Presentation Night
Its been a month since the eGenting Programming Competition (2005) was held in Genting Highlands. No winners have been finalised yet (and even if they were, I couldn’t tell you). Anyway, the point is that the annual public lecture that follows each competition is going to be held on 21st January 2006 followed by the presentation night. For those who are interested (participants and non-participants alike), or just curious, to attend the event, registration is now open.
The public lecture will be presented by Mr. Jonathan Searcy, the Senior Vice President of eGENTING Research & Development (Systems). The purpose of the lecture is to dissect this year’s programming problems and provide some feedback to the contestants. With nearly 30 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of significant computer systems, Mr. Searcy is undoubtedly an expert who can provide a different perspective to the world of system development (and invariably one that is different from the tertiary institutions point of view). Competition contestants are strongly recommended to attend. Those who might be interested in entering next year’s competition, as well as academicians are also invited to attend to glean some insights and lessons to more efficient and better programming techniques.
It is an all expense paid event (READ: ABSOLUTELY FREE). Contestants and guests will be provided with return coach services between Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands Resort, and complimentary meals (for the public lecture and presentation night). There really isn’t any excuse not to come, barring time and interest. So if you have some free time on your hands, are interested in learning something new (perhaps), and would like to attend, feel free to contact Ms. Tan Chee Leng via email or call in at +603-2333 3276. As space is limited, registration is on a first come first served basis. Registration closes on 30th December 2005.
So go on and register, attend, and find out this year’s winners (and kill them, if you like).
