Well, as the year is coming to a close, I suppose it is time to review what has been achieved and what were the opportunities missed. Thinking back, this year has been an eventful indeed. A year full of accomplishments and setbacks, happiness and misfortune, good times and bad, discovery and loss, events both funny and not so funny. A mixed bag of extremes. Some months were packed with vivid memories while others were merely blurred images. Here’s what I remember most about 2005…

January 2005

• Holiday to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
• White water rafting down Padas River (drank half the river!)
• Climbed Mount Kinabalu (and reached the peak!)
• eGenting Programming Competition 2004 Presentation Night
• Drove down Genting Highlands without brakes!
• WL’s father admitted to hospital for pneumonia

February 2005

• WL’s father recovery
• 2nd and 3rd day of Chinese New Year on standby at Genting Highlands
• My birthday!

March 2005

• Manager’s resignation and farewell
• Received lucrative job offer
• Turned down job offer after much soul searching

April 2005 - June 2005

• 2nd anniversary at current employment
• Annual appraisals
• New colleagues!
• A blurry mess

July 2005

• WL’s birthday

August 2005

• Annual appraisal results
• Shit hits the ceiling and negotiations with boss begins
• Job hunt…

September 2005

I think I’ll have to revisit and document some of the more important events of 2005 over the next couple of weeks. But until then, here’s to another wonderful year ahead.
