‘First’ Steps Class Of 2006
Alrighty then! Steps classes have finally resumed for the year 2006 and boy does it feel good to be back on the Steps board. I went for a Steps class last week but that doesn’t count cause it was with Nicholas and (although I don’t want to admit it) I got totally lost (well almost). I manage to follow most of his “beginners” class but was later told by Arjiete that Nicholas’ classes wasn’t really beginners. More like somewhere in between beginners and intermediate. No wonder…
After the false start last week with the power cut and all, I was kinda worried that this week’s class would be canceled as well. My fears were unwarranted as the instructor came on time. Arjiete is back, so Hooray! I was still a little sore from yesterday’s Yoga so I was also a little worried that I would not be able to go the whole nine yards with Steps class. As it turns out, we somehow managed to do the entire hour, from end to end without any breaks. Time sure flies when you’re having fun.
Since it was the first class of the year after a three week layoff, Arjiete took the class slow (which explains why I wasn’t out of breath by the second set). She thought of doing a refresher course to get us up to speed but that turned out to be unnecessary as we were all geared up for a good set. Choreography was good and even WL, who admits to not being very good at Steps, enjoyed the class and could follow most of the combos.
I just got home from gym and I must say that I have a very nice ache in the muscles and joints. Not the painful aches that comes with abuse but a nice warm twinge that is the sign of a good workout. Can’t wait till next week :D
