Project Sing Song II - Blogger Cha Cha Guo Xin Nian

Some say that sequels are usually not as good as the original. That may be true most of the time, but you still get classics where the sequel is better than the first. In line with recent developments in the movie industry where they keep producing sequels to sequels to sequels, here is part two of the Sing Song project. Codenamed BLOGGER CHA CHA GUO XIN NIAN (Blogger Cha Cha [Dance] Through [Chinese] New Year), critics proclaim that this blogosphere production will be bigger and better than last one.

Promotional hype is strong with this one, as bloggers throughout all known space time continuum held their breaths in anticipation of the launch date that was set to 12th January 2006. Well, wait no longer for it has arrived. After much leg shaking, Lin Peh of Tok 3 Tok 4 fame officiated the event at a prestigious red carpet gathering.

For the benefit of those who have only just emerged from under the coconut shell, here’s the 2 cents history tour (depreciated to zero) on what you have to do to be part of this once (currently in its second iteration) in a lifetime event.

  • Go read the write up in Lin Peh’s blog
  • Laugh out loud rolling on floor for a few minutes (LOLROFFAFM)
  • Download the following two MP3s (Karaoke and Original (by Teresa Teng))
  • Listen carefully to the original and familiarise yourself with the song
  • Screw your brain in right
  • Refer to the lyrics on Lin Peh’s website
  • Wipe the tears from your eyes. No need so pressure.
  • Sing the song according to the tempo of the Karaoke music (do some practice run first)
  • Record your voice (and only your voice, no gua gua chiao noise in the background) in MP3 format
  • Send your recording to Lin Peh at xymalaysia@yahoo.com

Done. That’s all you need to do. That’s your job. The rest is up to Lin Peh to arrange the score and sabo those people he don’t like. Note that the closing date for submissions is 16 January 2006. So be warned. Don’t come and cry afterwards claiming that we didn’t give any warning. Yes the timeline is a little shorter than the last project. Don’t complain. As Nike says, “Just Do It” and if you’re Malaysian, “Malaysia Boleh“. Now that you know, don’t delay any longer. Once missed, the opportunity will never come again. Don’t screw up!
