Last month, I sent my monitor back to the shop under warranty after discovering that it was having problems with its resolutions setting (which caused me two weeks worth of trouble in January). The lady at the counter at that time told me that it would take about a month since they would be sending it back to the manufacturer (Samsung) via their own vendors. So I waited a month. True to her word, I received an SMS two days ago telling me that my monitor was ready for collection.

I’d like to share 3 really awesome links with fellow geeks in the pink* out there. The first 2 point to PDF downloads of entire books that you can buy off the shelf (but were too kiam siap-stingy- to do so - and please view them on the screen, don’t print and kill more trees, k); the third points to the web page where you can get more goodies like these.

Two days earlier, this topic had came up during a passing conversation with some friends at the local mamak stall. Grazer had mentioned that he heard rumours that the petrol prices were going to go up… soon. Well, I was outside earlier and saw this super long queue in front of the petrol station. Out of curiousity, I popped inside to ask the cashier whether the petrol prices were going to increase. I can now confirm that its going to go up by 30 sen at midnight tonight.

Just watched the last episode of Initial D Fourth Stage. While it wasn’t quite the finish I was expecting, it is still a finish nonetheless. The fourth season of the very popular Japanese anime that has spawned many a fan site and a huge following is now complete and in the books. With flashy cars, dangerous street races, cool looking characters, and realistic animations, what’s there not to like about the Initial D?

Its been a long while coming. While I love watching Japanese anime, this is probably one of the few turnoffs to following a fresh series. The wait can be excruciatingly long and painful. While the raw Japanese version of the newest episodes have been available for quite a while now, there’s a huge lead time before the translated versions become available to the public. I truly respect the various factions out there who are contributing their time and efforts to translating the script

Its Sunday today. Some consider this to be the last day of the week while others consider it to be the first. Since I consider it a weekend, that still leaves me time to squeeze in the Game of the Week. I had intentions to go retro and review some classics but after scratching around for a bit, I found that they didn’t really hold much appeal for me. So I went with QBeez 2 by GameHouse instead. Time’s tight, so I’ll keep this short.

Today’s 26 February 2006. That means its the last day of MAS Travel Fair 2006. Since it began 9 days earlier, its been like a roller coaster ride, seeing extreme highs in the beginning, undulating public interests in the middle, and now towards the end, another grand high as though in preparation for the final plunge.

A week ago, I was in the office pantry minding my own business and reading notices on the bulletin board when a colleague (K) walked in. He too browsed the bulletin board, stopping to observe a list of people in the company whose birthdays were in February. We proceeded to have the following conversation:

Most companies require their new staff to undergo a medical examination prior to confirming their hire. My current company is no different in that sense, except for the fact that I did mine after starting work. I’ve been three weeks with this company and just returned from a visit to the clinic across the street to get the formalities over and done with.
