MAS Travel Fair 2006: Last Day
Today’s 26 February 2006. That means its the last day of MAS Travel Fair 2006. Since it began 9 days earlier, its been like a roller coaster ride, seeing extreme highs in the beginning, undulating public interests in the middle, and now towards the end, another grand high as though in preparation for the final plunge.
It is human nature to hold things off to the last minute, especially when bargain hunting. So it is only natural that the last day of the travel fair sees another spike in traffic from interested travellers and bargain hunters. However, going last minute is a two edged sword. While you might get better bargains during the final hours of a sale, the possibility of what you want being sold out is also high.
At any rate, as of the writing of this post, the fair’s online booking system will be open for approximately 22 hours more. Enough time for interested parties to squeeze in a final purchase. Unfortunately, the online system only handles MAS ticketing. Those who are keen on reserving the Golden Holiday Packages will have to go through travel agents. It is business as usual for Travel Agents but bear in mind that they operate during business hours. So don’t put it off till the eleventh hour.
Having said all that, there’s an alternative to making a purchase now. I’m sure many would have realised by now that the MATTA-MITM Fair 2006 is just around the corner. It is set to start 19 days after the closure of MASTF 2006, on 17 March 2006 and will run for three days, ending 19 March 2006. With the MATTA-MITM Fair coming close on MASTF’s heels, it is only natural for people to hold off a little longer, in hopes of getting an even bigger deal.
For myself, I’m holding out and betting on MATTA-MITM cause I’ve already got tickets to some destinations and just need to plan the accomodations and itinerary.
How about you? Have you made your purchases yet, or are you holding on to your funds and keeping your fingers crossed? Which destinations are you targeting and looking out for? Let me know cause I would sure love to have some ideas for my next big vacation ;)
