GotW: Chainz 2 - Relinked
This week, we’re doing another one of those sequel games. This time around, its Chainz 2: Relinked produced by Mumbo Jumbo and published by GameHouse.
Straight off the bat, this game has one of the best soundtracks that I’ve heard in a long time. I love Jazzy tunes, so I love Chainz 2’s ingame music. Its funky, its upbeat, and it goes well with the overall look and feel of the game. The graphics is not shabby either. Cool bright colours give the game a cheery atmosphere. Two thumbs up in the sound and graphics department.
Game play is simple enough. You have a playing field full of squares. Each square contains a chain link. There are two types of links. The basic ones connect either left to right, or up and down. The second type is the cross-link which connects to links on all four sides. The idea is to rotate the single links such that it forms a chain of 3 or more links of the same colour. When that happens, the chain links will be removed from play and replaced with new ones. The aim is to fill up the chainz meter before you run out of moves. Once the meter fills up, its on to the next level.
There are over 200 exciting and challenging levels to keep you occupied. The game comes in 4 different game modes, namely Classic, Arcade, Strategy, and Puzzle. Classic mode is the old Chainz game that we’ve come to know and love. It is untimed and you can complete the game at a leisurely pace. Arcade mode is the timed version of the game and you’ll have to beat the clock in order to complete the game. Strategy mode requires you to complete a level before the game screen fills up with links. Each move you make will cause new links to appear. Finally, the puzzle mode will pit your wits against a series of challenging static puzzles, which is excellent for filling in those dull moments between meetings.
The game is full of powerups, ranging from bombs to rainbow links to help you complete the game in style. However, watch out for black coloured links which cannot be rotated. Throughout the game, links will appear containing letters and bonus multipliers. Collect these to gain a high score. If you manage to collect all the letters that make up the word ‘CHAINZ’, you will collect the value of the accumulated jackpot.
To extend the Chainz, refer to Boredworkers.com’s Game of the Week for the recommended downloads and follow the instructions below:
- Download both recommended files.
- Install Chainz 2: Relinked.
- Uncompress the crack archive to the installation directory and replace the file ‘chainz2res.dll’.
- Start the game and have some chain linking fun
This is one of the more addictive games that I’ve played in a while now. Go ahead, pick it up, and get chainzed to your seat.
