GotW: Feeding Frenzy 2 - Shipwreck Showdown

This one goes out to Carol who reminded me of a promise I made nearly a year ago. It’s been a while since the last GotW in March. Between the harddisk crash and my new job, things have been a bit more hectic than I would have liked. This one has actually been sitting in my in-tray for the better part of two months. So forgive me if I’ve forgotten some of the details. Here’s Feeding Frenzy 2 - Shipwreck Showdown.

This game is the sequel to the popular Feeding Frenzy game that I reviewed here in November 2005. A mysterious stranger has dropped in on the reef and is causing a stir in the community. The fish are nervous and jumpy. It’s up to our heroes to figure out who this newcomer is and why everybody’s afraid.

Those who have played the original will be familiar with the game mechanics and objectives. As with the original game, there are two game modes to choose from; timed and classic. There are a number of characters, some new, some old, played over 60 levels of frenzied feeding fun. The objective is to gobble your way to the top of the food chain. When you reach a certain score, your fish will grow in size, opening up new options of fodder. You advance to the next level when the meter is completely filled.

Aside from the plot, characters, and villain, there are some additional features which are new to the game. Firstly, there’s a spate of new powerups that will be useful in solving the shipwreck mystery. The open waters are also now home to mines, poisonous minnows, squids, and jellyfish which will hinder your progress. If you’re feeding near the surface, your hero now has the ability to jump and feed on flying insects. These new features adds variety to the gameplay and will keep you on your toes. As an added easter egg, the mysterious visitor becomes a secret playable character after you’ve completed the game once.

You know the drill to getting a time extension. Go to Boredworkers.com’s GotW for the recommended downloads.

  • Download the recommended files.
  • Install the game.
  • Locate the installation directory.
  • Replace ‘frenzybin.dll’ with the cracked file found in the compressed archive.
  • Start the game and have some feeding frenzy fun.

Download it, play it, have fun, pay for it!

Sidenote: Does this mark the active return of GotW? Hopefully but we’ll see.

Why cant i play the exe file after cracking the dll file?
am I right to copy the dll file to replace the one installed in my computer? thanks

G: Yes, you are right. However, they do change and update the dll from time to time (e.g. different version releases and patches). The same crack won’t work forever. Might be the recommended crack files are outdated. While I would love to say that I maintain a 100% updated list, I unfortunately don’t have the resources or time to double check all the games to see whether the files still work. At this very moment, I don’t even have the luxury to find and recommend new games :(
