Skip Hop Dance
Did something out of character today that was kinda embarassing. Not the don’t-know-where-to-hide-face sort of embarassment that you get for things like shitting your pants in public but rather one from the shy-shy-what-the-heck-am-I-doing category. I danced in public. To be more specific, the steps class that WL and I attend put on a public show at California Fitness for passersby.
The incident was unplanned and came as a total surprise to me. In fact, I’m still wondering how I wound up doing it. My first day back in gym after a two week absense and I did something weird on my own voalition. No, the instructor didn’t hold a gun to my head and said something like, “dance or else“. Although I wish he did, then I can at least console myself that I haven’t lost my marbles.
I mean, sure you wiggle your ass on the dance floor or shake that booty when you feel happy while shopping, but you don’t usually have a throng of people ogling you while you do it. I now appreciate the street performers that do it on a daily basis and envy them for having the courage and state of mind to remember their routines and do it out in the open day after day. Really quite impressive an impressive feat. Throughout the ordeal, I was going skip hop stop… gee, what’s next again?
Anywho, the moment of madness has passed. Yes, it was definitely a moment of madness. How else would one explain going out in public and doing a jig that one has absolutely no right to be doing. But to be completely fair, it was actually quite fun. Would I do it again if the occasion arose? I would think so, yes. If you caught the short demo out at California Fitness’ Jackie Chan Sport in Mid Valley mall, I was probably the idiot who was spinning the wrong way half the time :D
