When Broadband Gets Worse Than Satellite TV

Streamyx, Malaysia’s broadband service by TM Net, has been getting from bad to worse. Complaints have been raised about the slow and unstable connection. Even WL, who’s been having a great connection until very recently, was lamenting about the lack of connectivity. To me, it seems that broadband connectivity is becoming worse than satellite television.

Bleach Turns 100!

No, not the liquid bleach. I mean Bleach the anime. After following the saga of Kurosaki Ichigo and friends for nearly two years, they’ve finally reached episode 100. The original version of the anime screens weekly in Japan. The fansubbed version usually follows quickly on its heels.

Speedtraps

The annual (sometimes bi-annual) balik kampung exodus has begun. Kuala Lumpur city centre was gridlocked last night due to the mass traffic trying to get to the various exits leading out of the Klang Valley. The highways are probably lined with cars by now. Inspite of the heavy traffic, I’m sure the urge to speed is still there, especially with thoughts of grandma’s famous beef rendang on your mind.

Happy Deepavali and Selamat Hari Raya

It’s still a couple days away but already, the office is starting to look like a ghost town with tumbleweed and dust bunnies swirling in the wind. On top of those who celebrate Deepavali and Hari Raya, quite a number of people have also taken the coming days off in order to take advantage of the double holiday and make a long break out of it. Restoran Yu Ai - Seafood Noodles

As far as seafood noodles are concerned, I’ve never been a great fan. However, there is one particular seafood noodle shop that I’ll happily go to. That is Restoran Yu Ai located in Segambut. A friend of mine first introduced the place to me nearly a decade ago and I’ve been frequenting it on and off ever since.

$#@&^*~% Carpark

Got to the office at the usual time today, around 10.30am. Flashed my season parking pass at the entry gate to the Uptown basement carpark and drove in. My usual practice is to drive straight down to basement 3 since the higher levels are usually full. Down, down, down, I went. WHAT? Carpark FULL!

Oh Sushi @ MidValley

This is actually a little old. WL and I went to Oh Sushi a while back, before they changed their external decor (again). It was after our usual weekend gym session and we were starved. Since we were feeling spendthrift that day, we decided on Japanese. There are quite a number of Japanese restaurants inside Mid Valley Mega Mall. Oh Sushi was one of the few that we haven’t yet tried.
