It Feels Like Sunday

Oh wait… It IS Sunday. What I meant to say was that it felt like Sunday when I woke up yesterday. Which was a Saturday, by the way, in case you didn’t know. Why did it feel like Sunday? Because I didn’t work on Friday.

Seems confusing, doesn’t it? How the days get jumbled up because you changed your weekly schedule. It is strange how our bodies react to conditioning. We’re so used to a routine that when something different happens, everything just goes out of whack.

In this particular case, I took a day off work on Friday. That literally shifted my weekend a day earlier. While I can’t say that I feel any more rested or accomplished more than I would have on a normal short weekend, I did enjoy it. The fact that I still have slightly under 24 hours to go before needing to crawl back to work just doubles the satisfaction.

I foresee this becoming a trend for the coming month of December. Between the Christmas and New Year holidays, the wedding dinners that WL and I have commited to, a planned trip to Singapore, and the general ambience from the holiday season, the month will zip by fairly quickly.

How about you? Any plans for December? Will your year close with a bang? Or will it sneak by surrepticiously?
