PayPerPost just launched it’s own online reality show. A rather ingenious way of marketing, although some would argue that it borrows heavily from another series. RockStartup.com gives us a behind the scenes peek at what goes on in PPP. There are currently two episodes to be seen, along with a collection of revelations from the cast (read: the people behind PPP).

Frankly speaking, this isn’t for everyone. Some might find the effort tacky while others may actually enjoy the voyeuristic glimpse into the lives of PPP’s staff. For me, it was funny watching some of the facial expressions and reactions in the video. However, the novelty and my curiosity wore off after the second video.

To their credit, they did manage to hold my attention through some 10 minutes of video footage. That’s quite the feat, considering that I don’t particularly enjoy downloading and watching videos from YouTube. I’m a text reading type of person. The videos could do with a bit more humour. I like the idea though. I definitely dig the idea.

RockStartup.com is also a cool name to use. No doubt chosen to ride on the coat tails of the Rockstar (INXS/Supernova) franchise. I don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t. It is after all a marketing venture, and an ingenious one at that. There are even opportunities for sponsored product placements within their videos if you’re so inclined.

Well, there isn’t really much to complain about. The site itself, like their parent site has a clean design and easy navigation. You get where you need to go and what you want to watch with little difficulty. There are no obscure hidden links that you need to dig for. Everything that you might want to see on the site is shown prominently with easy-on-the-eye colours and contrast.

Not exactly for everyone but if it’s your thing, then head on over and see what they have in store for you.
