24 Hours To Go

In another 24 hours, I’ll be boarding a train bound for Singapore. It’s sort of a holiday quickie for WL and myself.

The thing is, we bought a pair of tickets to Singapore’s Night Safari during the MATTA Fair in March (?). They’ve been sitting in my wallet for more than half a year. I was going to write it off but WL convinced me to go down for a year end break instead. Year end trips down to Singapore is starting to become a tradition of sorts.

For some reason or other, we seem to enjoy taking a slow train down south. It is an acquired taste. While some cannot stand the slow trundling motion of the locomotion nor its accompanying din, WL and I find it rather relaxing. Maybe I’m just more tolerant to noise compared to others.

In actual fact, when trying to fall asleep, I can’t stand the sound of utter silence. I remember way back when I was in college, I would go over to my friend’s place to nap because he shared the apartment with a few people and there was constant conversation going on in the background. Perhaps it is the comfort of knowing someone is just around the corner that puts you at ease.

At any rate, we’ll be gone come this time tomorrow. Shan’t be updating the site so that’s that. Cheers and happy holidays.
