Last Working Day Of 2006
Yup, 29th December 2006. Since I don’t work Saturdays, this is the last official working day of the year for me. The next official working day will be on 3rd January 2007. It will be a busy busy year end schedule for WL and I.
Tonight, we’ll be attending a pre-wedding dinner at a friend’s place. We’ll be up bright and early at 7.30am tomorrow morning to be part of his entourage. That’s a whole lot earlier than my usual hour at the moment. Follow that up with a wedding reception the same night. Hopefully, I’m not hungover the next day cause we’ll be heading east again to attend another buddy’s wedding reception on New Year’s eve. The same one for whom we made the trip east on Wednesday to be part of his entourage. We’ll close the year with a New Year countdown and some fireworks.
Could say that my schedule is fully booked from this evening until early 2007. Hopefully, I can get all my work done before then. The plan is to start benchmarking the performance of our latest product release against an older version with the New Year and complete tests by 9th January. I’m beginning to question the feasibility of this time-line since there are 8 modules to be tested and each will take an awfully long time to complete (somewhere in the vicinity of 9 hours). There’s little room for error here, else we’ll find out schedules spiraling out of control.
I might be moving to a new job with the New Year. Depends on how negotiations pan out with my current employer. Exciting times and all that. So here’s to a jolly New Year. Cheers.
