Visit Malaysia Year 2007
Malaysia is 49 going on 50. It’s the golden jubilee. Come 31st August 2007, Malaysia will celebrate it’s 50th year of independence since. A significant milestone indeed and Malaysians plans to celebrate all year round with Visit Malaysia Year 2007. The grand launch will be on 6th January 2007. Even so, fun and festivities will begin with the ushering in of the New Year. The 2007 event calendar is already starting to fill up.
This is only the third year to be designated as Visit Malaysia Year. The first was in 1990, while the last more than a dozen years ago in 1994. Organised by the Malaysian Tourism Board the Visit Malaysia Campaign has been slowly gaining momentum over the past months, including the release of the Visit Malaysia theme song, entitled One Golden Celebration, in three major languages; BM, English, and Mandarine. There’s also an instrumental version of the song which was composed by Kieran Kuek who also co-wrote the lyrics with Ismail Paul Lingan. It’s a very catchy tune.
