Air Asia 99% Air Fare Discount
If you’re travelling between countries within the Asian (particularly from Kuala Lumpur), you might like to check out Air Asia’s 99% discounted air fares promotion. The offer began on 31st January 2007 and will run through to 7th February 2007 for travel periods between 1st April 2007 and 31st July 2007.
Incidently, that’s the same period (+1 day) as the Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair 2007. Personally speaking, I believe that it was no coincidence that the offer came about when MAS is holding their travel fair. While it isn’t exactly direct competition, Air Asia’s decision to table the offer is sending a message to MAS that they are after market share. As with any price war, the consumers stand to benefit.
Between the 99% discounted air fares by Air Asia and the Travel Fair by MAS, trifty travellers will have the best of long haul and budget flights to choose from. For long haul, it is obviously better to go with MAS as they offer the whole nine yards in service, PLUS they fly direct. And for everything Asian, Air Asia is the way to go.
If you’re unfamiliar with Air Asia, they are Asia’s leading low fare no frills airline and first to introduce “ticketless” traveling. Their tagline just about explains everything in four simple words, “now everyone can fly“.
If you’re coming in from overseas for a backpacker vacation in Asia, you might like to consider flying in to Kuala Lumpur via MAS, and making the Malaysia’s capital city the home base for your Asian travels. From here, you can take advantage of the great offers by Air Asia.
In addition to cheap flights, 2007 is also a great year to visit Malaysia as it has been declared as Visit Malaysia Year 2007 in conjunction with the country’s 50th year of independance.
So whether you’re travelling near or far, this month is chock full of offers. If you haven’t yet planned a vacation, now’s a great time to do it. But if by chance you miss the double deals, there’s always MATTA Fair.

A colleague of mine mentioned that MAS air flight not as cheap as “tiger” air line from S’pore. I am not sure about this. Maybe someone can give us detail.
G: Tiger Airlines is a budget airline like Air Asia. So of course MAS flights is not as cheap. Tiger airlines doesn’t fly out of KL. Only out of Singapore. Currently, they are trying to negotiate a deal to fly into KL but I doubt they’ll get the rights.
