Have A Googly VD
Google updated their search page logo in line with Valentine’s Day. It’s sort of a tradition they practice where they have new logos for major events or calendar dates. The new Google Valentine’s Day logo looks screwed up in my opinion.

- Google’s Valentine’s Day Logo -
Usually, they replace certain letters in Google with different graphics that fit the occasion. In this particular case, they’ve taken out the middle ‘G’ and the following ‘L’. The G they’ve replaced with a chocolate coated strawberry but the L is a bit ambiguous. Some would think that the stalk on the strawberry represents the L. However, others will argue that the stalk is the squiggly topknot present in a lowercase ‘g’.
While I’m willing to give them the benefit of doubt, my opinion is leaning towards the latter.
So which is it? Did a graphics designer from the Google team mess up and renamed the company to Googe? Or is that stalk really an L. You tell me.
In the meantime, have a Googey Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day logotype massacre…
What? You haven’t heard? The marketing and design worlds are abuzz with rampant theories about the Google Valentine’s Day treatment, this year. I, for one, ove the Googe Vaentine’s ogotype….
G: *o*. That’s one way of putting it.

Hey everybody,
It’s all great how everyone piled on my exclusive story and made it there own.
I logged the first story on the Internet about the logo at 7am on Valentines Day,and can prove it. This is the third exclusive I’ve had on the Internet in 3 months.
Where’s the justice?

G: Whining never helped anyone. We’re in a different timezone and were up when the logo rolled over. So your 7am doesn’t really prove anything. I’ve not even heard of you until today. And quite frankly, now that I’ve heard you, I’m not interested in hearing more.

You’re right, it was stupid for me to be arrogant and spew bragging rights. I apologize. My state of mind at the time was just minutes after another website claimed to have a “web exclusive” 4 hrs later and I saw their visit to my site in my logs.
I hope I can be forgiven - I made a mistake and this is really a cool site.
