American Idol 2007: Blake Lewis FTW

So the second week of the top twelve has come and gone. Stephanie Edwards is the latest casualty of elimination while the week before saw Brandon Rogers going home. We’re now down to the top ten. The guys are finally kicking it in gear and bringing it. None more than my favourite Blake “Beatbox” Lewis.

In last week’s installment of American Idol Season 6 (2007), Blake sang Time of the Seasons. The song was originally performed by The Zombies in the late 60’s. A period popularly known as the Brit Invasion and also the theme of the week for AI.

Close your eyes, listen to the song, let the melody sweep over you, and enjoy the moment. It’s a really hot and sexy rendition. When you’re done, tell me “Who’s your daddy”?

Time of the Seasons (1967) - The Zombies
It’s the time of the season
When the love runs high
In this time, give it to me easy
And let me try
With pleasured hands

To take you and the sun to
Promised lands
To show you every one
It’s the time of the season for loving

What’s your name?
(What’s your name?)
Who’s your daddy?
(Who’s your daddy? He rich?)
Is he rich like me?

Has he taken
(Has he taken)
Any time
(Any time to show)
To show you what you need to live?
Tell it to me slowly
Tell you what?
I really want to know
It’s the time of the season for loving

What’s your name?
(What’s your name?)
Who’s your daddy?
(Who’s your daddy? He rich?)
Is he rich like me?

Has he taken
(Has he taken)
Any time
(Any time to show)
To show you what you need to live?
Tell it to me slowly
Tell you what?
I really want to know
It’s the time of the season for loving
