The tax submission due date is only two weeks away. Best that we wrap this up quickly. The next section in the eFiling electronic BE form is the Tax Summary. As the title suggests, this section is a summary of the tax information you keyed in through the previous forms. It also calculates and derives payable or refundable taxes based on the values that you provided. While there is nothing to be filled, it is an important page that should be reviewed and double checked to ascertain that you made no data entry errors. Don’t take eFiling for granted. It’s also a good place to double check the calculations.

I was at the PC Fair yesterday. There were some specific items that I wanted to buy (and managed to buy) but that didn’t stop me from looking at everything in general. There are some pretty good offers floating around this year. Here’s an overview in brief of what I found interesting.

This next section is only applicable for forms that are prepared and submitted on an individual’s behalf by a firm. The firm preparing your tax assessment will fill it in on your behalf. As an individual, reading this article, I think it is safe to assume that you DON’T have to fill in this section. If you represent a firm which specialises in tax assessments, then you really shouldn’t be reading this article.

Previous sections determined the amount of taxable income for which you have to pay taxes. A tiered percentage (%) tax is then applied on the nett taxable income to determine the amount of tax that needs to be paid. This section of the form describes deductions to the total taxes paid.
