Chris Benoit Double Homicide/Suicide…
Fans of WWE (World Wrestling Federation / Entertainment) would no doubt be familiar with the name of Chris Benoit (aka The Rabid Wolverine). It was in the news last week that the wrestling superstar had taken the lives of his wife and son before ending his own life at his family home in Fayetteville, Georgia. This is saddening news indeed.

A timeline released by WWE shows that the tragedy occurred on Sunday and was discovered by the authorities on Monday (US time). They’ve also released a press release on the matter.
According to the statement, the wife was bound and asphyxiated several days prior to the discovery. The son was found smothered in a different room while the 40 year old wrestler was found hanging by the neck. The authorities believe the act to be deliberate. Due to the high profile and popularity Chris Benoit, there’s been a lot of news coverage sensationalising the deaths.

For me, Chris Benoit was a great entertainer. Two weeks back, he was drafted into ECW from Smackdown and I was looking forward to watching his performance. Unfortunately, that is not to be. Regardless of the news, the truth of the matter is that three lives have been lost and Chris Benoit will be missed.
