The second coming of MATTA Fair 2007 is just around the corner. Starting on the 7th September 2007, it is scheduled to run for three days ending 9th September 2007. Under the supervision of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), the travel fair brings together and showcases a comprehensive range of travel and holiday products from across the globe.

As with the first fair, this twice annual event will be held at the spacious exhibition halls of Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC). The exhibition will be held across three halls in total, with the following designations:

• Hall 1 & 2: International Packages, Airlines, Cruises, NTOs
• Hall 3: Domestic, ASEAN, travel related products & services, special category groups, NTOs

There are two entrances into the exhibition halls. One through the main entrance of PWTC into Hall 3 and another access from Jalan Ipoh into Halls 1 & 2. As usual, a nominal entry fee (previously RM3) will be collected at the entrance to the exhibition halls. This will grant visitors access to all the halls and exhibitions and is valid for the entire day. Visits on different days will be subject to additional entrance fees.

Unless you’re unclear of your travel destination and plans, it is wise to plan your travels ahead of time, prior to visiting the fair grounds. Decide on what you want and locate the exhibitors/tour agents that you think are likely to give you the best deals from the guides that are handed out at the entrance. Once you know your target, make a beeline for the booths.

An alternative to visiting the fair grounds itself is to call the travel agents that have exhibits. They will entertain direct calls. That way, you can avoid the crowds altogether. On the other hand, if your intention is to window shop and see what catches your eye, the best approach is to start at one end and wend your way to the other.
