Today, both Akismet and Spam Karma 2 failed. Checked on the blog this morning to find 35 comment spam related to various medicines. There’s more coming in as I write this. Makes me wonder if the spam blockers are functioning. Either that or someone has managed to crack the blocking criteria.

In truth, I’m happy with the spam blockers that I have currently installed. I use both Akismet and Spam Karma 2 in unison as a redundancy. Theoretically, one should catch what the other misses. To date, Akismet has caught 53,080 comment spams while SK2 managed to block 47,836. The values more or less match up since I implemented SK2 a little later than Akismet.

I really don’t want to implement Captcha. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and see what happens.
