Air Asia Going Gold… Coast

After all the build up and hype about Air Asia flying long haul, travelers will finally get a chance to fly Air Asia to Gold Coast Australia. Over the weekend, bargain hunters will be able to reserve tickets for flights between the LCCT Kuala Lumpur and Gold Coast. The tickets are valid for the travel period between 2nd November to 14th November 2007. Fares go from as low as RM50.00 (exclusive of tax and surcharges).

Additionally, Air Asia is offering vacation packages to Gold Coast. 4D/3N Free & Easy packages, inclusive of return flight, hotel stay, and breakfast start from as low as RM560.99 per person. 4D3N Lifestyle Tour packages, which includes return flight, hotel stay, and organised tour are priced from RM1128.99 per person.

Airport tax and fuel surcharges are as yet unconfirmed. Jetstar, a competitor budget flight run by Qantas, charges RM409.50 and RM479.00 for tax and surcharge between KL and Sydney. Taking that as a yardstick, the total price for flight and additional charges should come up to around RM1000.00 per person return. That’s a bargain if you ask me. Just bear in mind that Air Asia flights are known to be cramped and it’s roughly and eight hour flight to Gold Coast. You get what you paid for.

If you’ve always dreamed of traveling to Australia and don’t mind the nuances of traveling on budget flights, then this is a great deal for you.
