Missed the previous PIKOM PC Fair? Wondering when is the next one scheduled for? The dates and venues have already been announced. Although still tentative, the details usually doesn’t change unless there is a clash in schedules or issues of exhibition hall availability.

I’m once again in the market for a laptop for WL. We’re leaning towards one of the DELL colour notebook PCs (maybe in Flamingo Pink). The offers as of late have been very tempting, especially the bargains in conjunction with the Hari Raya festivities. A Core 2 Duo 1.5GHz with 1GB RAM, 128MB nVidia graphics card, free delivery, and all the usual blings is going for RM2999 (RM2599 with a built in graphics accelerator and 14″ monitor). The previous offer was even better with a free upgrade to 2GB of memory.
While there’s no real urgency for us to acquire a notebook, there’s also little reason for us to wait for the fair. For DELL computers, the price tag usually doesn’t differ much before, during and after PC Fairs. You may or may not get a few additional free upgrades, extra rebates, or free delivery for the duration of the PC Fairs.
Aside from notebooks, I also need to find a printer for my cousin. An entry level printer for printing the usual school projects, etc. I’m thinking along the lines of a Canon Bubble Jet printer. But then again, I might not need to wait till the PC Fair for that either since Canon Expo 2007 will be held between 23 Oct - 25 Oct 2007 at KL Convention Centre.
I think I’ll just keep an eye on the market for a bit and see what turns up. Either way, you can be sure that I’ll make the usual exodus to KL for the PC Fair. See you there.
