World of Warcraft 10 Day Free Trial
Had a conversation with a colleague of mine the other day about games. The topic turned to World of Warcraft, a massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) by Blizzard. I’ve read the descriptions and reviews, followed its development over the years, and kept updated on the latest news. Basically, I’ve done everything short of actually playing the game! The conversation piqued my interest enough that I wanted to play, or at the very least try the game.
There’s a World of Warcraft 10 day free trial available for those who are looking to try the game out before committing to it. There’s a catch. In order to actually utilise the free 10 day World of Warcraft trial, you’ll have to first download the installer which is approximately 3.16gb in size! Blizzard has been nice enough to provide all of this free and even throw in a nice peer to peer download manager for this purpose. The drawback is that the installer is bloody huge.
I made the mistake of registering for the 10 day World of Warcraft free trial first and then kicking off the download. It’s day two into my ten day trial period and I’ve only managed to acquire a meager 327mb (10%) of the total file. The estimated completion time has been fluctuating between 28 to 55 hours depending on my network connection speed. That means by the time I’ve actually installed the game, I would have lost half of the ten day free trial! No wonder my friend suggested I borrow his copy of the game and install from there instead of downloading it off the net.
So that’s the stupid thing about World of Warcraft’s 10 day free trial. If you suddenly decide that you must try out the game, I suggest you download the game file FIRST, and then only register for the trial period. Otherwise you won’t be able to enjoy the full benefit of the trial period. That aside, I’m still looking forward to actually playing it. Happy gaming.

[…] If you just want to try the game using the World of Warcraft 10 day free trial, you’ll have to download approximately 4gb of data before you can proceed. To speed things up, I really suggest downloading the patches while you’re waiting for the initial 3gb+ game file. That way, you can patch it the moment it’s done and get going! […]

can you do multiple free trails??? in different accounts??
like does the free trail track your ip address and only allow you to do this once??? or how does it work??
G: Yes, you can do multiple free trials. After all the download problems I had, I was only left with 3 days to the trial so I went ahead and created another account. No problems.
