World of Warcraft: Finally?
Or at least that’s what I thought. After 4 days and nights, the download of the 3.16gb World of Warcraft installer was finally complete! I fidgeted as I waited for the installation bar to reach 100%. I could at last try out the game and make use of the 10 day free trial! Loading the game, I watched the introduction cinematic sequence. It was impressive, as with all Blizzard games. If the game play was half as good as the graphics, we should have a winner. That’s when the cold water hit.
After logging in, there was a short update bar followed by a restart request. Upon restarting, the Blizzard Downloader once again reared its ugly head. This time, it was downloading a 692mb patch! $#*@! Deep down, I knew that there would be updates but I was hoping that wouldn’t be the case. The least they could have done was to incorporate the patch into the installer download! After waiting 4 days, I really wasn’t in the mood to wait another one just so the World of Warcraft game could patch itself!
Try as I might, there was no getting around it. Looks like at least another day before I get the chance to play the game proper. Hopefully, this is the last humongous download. Otherwise, I’ll have to register for another free trial account to actually get a chance to TRY the damn game…
