BlueServer Bites The Dust

If you’re an casual gamer who patrons BlueServer on a regular basis, you would have noticed that the Warcraft III game server has been offline since early August 2008. If you’ve visited the home site in the past couple of days, it’s been replaced with a blog by Evert Chin aka Megablue, the founder of the game server. Word is that the Blueserver is closed.

That’s a big blow for casual players of Warcraft III The Frozen Throne. While there are numerous other Warcraft III game servers out there, I’ve found Blueserver to be the most fun. Maybe because I’ve made numerous friends over the years. Tough that I’ll probably never hear from them again. Rumours are going around that the server was closed due for illegal activities and conflict of interest. I’ll leave it at that.

I guess this means it’s time to break out the old Diablo II and Starcraft CDs. If you don’t know why, maybe you should check out the latest news on StarCraft II and the recent announcement of Diablo III.
