I skipped a few weeks of Naruto Shippuuden cause the fillers were getting on my nerves. Thankfully, as of episode 72, the series has been unfilled. It rejoins the original story arc with the Akatsuki bearing down on the two-tailed Jinchuriki. Meanwhile, Naruto continues his special training under the watchful eyes of Kakashi and Yamamoto.

I can’t begin to express how thankful I am that the series is no longer on filler mode. Watching the episodes of involving Sora, Kazuma, and the fake nine-tails was starting to grate on my nerves. It does provide some background on the “12 Guardians of Konoha”, I’ll grant it that. I just wished they hadn’t gone through it in such an over-the-top manner.

Now if only Bleach would follow suite. I’ve hit my tolerance threshold for Captain Amagai, his Zanpakutou Raika and the whole Bakkoutou affair. The way things are going, it shouldn’t be too long. Ichigo just needs to kill the traitorous replacement captain.
