When A Stranger Calls…
WL received a weird call yesterday afternoon. It was a stranger call from some survey company. She said that if their intention was to spice up her afternoon, they did a good job.
(The following conversation happened in in mandarine)

| WL | : | Yes. |
| Stranger | : | Can I do a short survey with you? |
| WL | : | Ok. (since I am free, will see skill you have) |
| Stranger | : | We are from xxx shopping mall (can’t really hear what she said), and doing a launching this weekend. |
| WL | : | … |
| Stranger | : | Are you aware of current property price? |
| WL | : | ng.. (means yes) |
| Stranger | : | Do you think current property is at highest peak? |
| WL | : | ng.. |
| Stranger | : | We are doing a launching this weekend, hope that you can bring your family and friends to our place. |
| WL | : | Where are you calling from? |
| Stranger | : | xxx.. (I still can’t listen to her) |
| WL | : | Do you have english name for you company? Are you from bank? |
| Stranger | : | No. We are a supermarket. |
| WL | : | How do you get my number? |
| Stranger | : | From an auto generate machine. My name is “B x x”. May I know what is your name? |
| WL | : | You can call me Ms A. |
| Stranger | : | Your surname is B too? |
| WL | : | A not B. |
| Stranger | : | Can I have your full name please, so that I can have a record in our system. |
| WL | : | It is ok, you just address me as Ms A. |
| Stranger | : | I have told you my name. Can you give me your name. |
| WL | : | It is ok, Ms A will do. |
| Stranger | : | There are alot of Ms A around. |
| WL | : | Ms. A will do. |
| Stranger | : | Go die! (then hang up). |

I too got that same call.. but i hung up the minute the person said it was a survey. My friend once gave his full name, and he was so stupid he fax his IC over too and few months down the road he found out the person used his details to apply for a soft loan.
also this is off topic, is your horizontal adsense in all 3 articles served automatically? Or did u manually code it that way? Because i can’t seem to do it automatically. I currently do it like this; i have 5 articles in main page. article 1 - 3 have the adsense like yours. Then when i write another article, i have to remove the adsense from the previous 3rd entry and re-add to the new one (if you know what i mean).
Is there a plugin to help ? Or can advise ah?

On to the off topic. It’s automatically done. It’s not a plugin perse. Just a simple statement that counts the number of ads it has inserted and stops at three. Quite simply, in the main wordpress loop, just put an if statement with a counter. E.g.
$i = 0;
main_loop
if($i++ < 3) insert add
end_main_loop
You can even extend it to insert ads every other article, etc.

I did receive this kind of calls before, but she told me she’s doing some kind of survey for some electrical shop. Before we ended our conversation, she asked for my full name and IC no.
then I just said I’m Ms. J lar, and ended the call.
G: Good move. Never give out personal details over the phone to someone you don’t know.
