Cabbage Soup Diet: Day 6 - Soup, Beef & Vegetables


Steak! Steak! Steak! I have been looking forward to this day. As the eating plan suggests, I had several beef steaks today. The first one was a grilled sirloin steak (hold the fries and served with fresh salad greens minus dressing) with colleagues over lunch. This was very much unplanned as I was actually thinking of having vegetables from the economy rice stall for lunch but my colleagues opted for western food instead

For dinner, I had planned to have a steak dinner with a good friend of mine at TGI Fridays Sunway Pyramid. Unfortunately, the place was crowded when we arrived and we wound up eating at Italiannies where I had the Grilled Strip Steak (Grilled sirloin steak served with mashed potatoes, sautéed tomatoes, mushrooms and broccoli).

Day Six: Beef and Vegetables
Eat to your heart’s content of beef and vegetables this day. You can even have 2 or 3 steaks if you like, with leafy green vegetables. No Baked Potato. Eat your soup at least once.

Cabbage Soup Diet Day 6 menu:
Breakfast:

  • 1 bowl cabbage soup

Lunch:

  • 1 grilled sirloin steak served with fresh garden greens with no gravy and dressing

Dinner:

  • 1 Italiannies Grilled Strip Steak (Grilled sirloin steak served with mashed sautéed tomatoes, mushrooms and broccoli)

Hands down the most expensive day of the week and for good reason. I was eating out the entire day and having beef sirloin steaks no less! Perhaps I took the eating plan too seriously and overindulged. Nonetheless, it was a happy day for me :) Too bad I could neither try the other stuff we ordered at Italiannies nor indulge in the mashed potatoes that came with the steak. Maybe I should have asked them to hold the mash and serve up more greens instead since WL and George over ordered and couldn’t finish the mash or their own food…

Between them, they shared the Sicilian Pizza (An inch-thick pizza stuffed with anchovies, black olives, mozzarella cheese and topped with sautéed onions and pomodoro sauce) and the Shrimp Fra Diablo (Shrimp sauteéd with asparagus, baby spinach, pine nuts and pomodoro sauce, tossed with fettuccine pasta and topped with cream cheese). Check out the Italiannies menu. Good news is that there’s 5 slices of leftover pizza in the fridge. Bad news is there’s another day to go in the diet.
