After a month of open exhibitor registration, the final list of venues and dates are up. Literally just around the corner as it’s a week away in some locations. The week of 4th December if you’re in KL. A week earlier than usual which is probably due to the year end December holidays (practically every Friday’s off for the remainder of December!). Here’s the usual list for your perusal and planning.

Official PIKOM PC Fair Listing

Just set up the PC at my parent’s place and hooked it up to the TV. Problem is the keyboard and mouse are next to the PC unit and can’t stretch all the way across the hall. Either get a wireless mouse/keyboard set (which I’ve been wanting to do for the last couple years!) or extend the cable via USB extension. I think the former’s probably more practical.

Also looking to resubscribe to Streamyx. Old modem adapter’s fried and they are now charging me RM88 for my non-modem 1mb streamyx line instead of RM77. I can’t remember why but the RM77 price was probably a 2 year contract. Need to cut costs so maybe downgrade to a 512kb line or see what other great deals are on offer.

Finally, there’s the usual magazine subscriptions. But that always boils down to the free gifts they give. Personal opinion, the magazines nowadays are overloaded with ads (particularly PC.com). Chip and HWM are probably still ok but they are getting there…

In terms of my annual pilgrimage to the PIKOM PC Fair, I’ve missed the two 2009 PC Fair installments because they coincided with my vacation plans. Something that I should probably remedy in this year’s final installment. Time to plan a Friday morning jaunt followed by lunch with some old buddies. Good way to clear leave as well. How about you?
