April Is Malaysia Tax Month
Yep. That’s right. There’s nothing more certain than taxes and death. So get filing before you drop dead from the exorbitant fines. Taxes are due by 3130 April. For those who have registered before, the convenience of Malaysia’s Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri’s eFiling system to file your taxes remains at your finger tips. Borang BE has been online and available for several weeks. Just a few clicks and you’re done! For those who are not using eFiling, you don’t know what you’re missing out. No rush, no hassle. Just make sure you file before the final week to avoid downtime and congestion. I’m sure the physical queue at the tax office will be equally bad.

Hi there,
a quick question about stock dividen.
I can’t find Cukai Seksyen 110 ( dividen ) does it mean I am not eligible to claim the tax?
There is Cukai Seksyen 110 ( lain-lain ) though.
I was told that not everyone can claim the tax for stock dividen, it depends on the income of individual, is it true?
Thanks for your help in advance.
G: Stock dividends is under section C2 (Dividends under Akta 51). You’ll need to include workshet HK-3 if you have overpaid your taxes and can claim reimbursement. Otherwise it’s not necessary.

What sort of exorbitant fines will i be subjected to when my form BE 2009 is submitted after the 30th April 2010 dateline?
G: Nothing much. I got slapped with an RM50 fine the last time my original submission got returned to me because of some minor errors and I resubmitted after the deadline.
