UC-Pro was launched earlier today. The launch date was pulled in from the one initially planned on 29th September. Good news for all of us. The portal itself is a little slow at the moment. To the point that the stylesheet isn’t completely loaded.

For those of you who have been holding your breath and waiting for the return of BlueServer, your patience will soon be rewarded. BlueServer is set to make its comeback to the gaming scenes. This time around, BlueServer will be reincarnated as UC-Pro. The announcement was made by MegaBlue on the BlueServer.org place holder blog.

If you’re an casual gamer who patrons BlueServer on a regular basis, you would have noticed that the Warcraft III game server has been offline since early August 2008. If you’ve visited the home site in the past couple of days, it’s been replaced with a blog by Evert Chin aka Megablue, the founder of the game server. Word is that the Blueserver is closed.

It is now day seven into my World of Warcraft 10 day free trial period. I mentioned in an earlier post that someone somewhere didn’t want me to play World of Warcraft. I have reason to believe it is divine intervention.

The huge 692mb World of Warcraft patch finally completed downloading and patching. I was ecstatic when I saw the in-game splash screen. It was like a long lost buddy that I hadn’t seen in years! Alas, my date with World of Warcraft would be delayed yet again by patches (and other disasters)!

Or at least that’s what I thought. After 4 days and nights, the download of the 3.16gb World of Warcraft installer was finally complete! I fidgeted as I waited for the installation bar to reach 100%. I could at last try out the game and make use of the 10 day free trial! Loading the game, I watched the introduction cinematic sequence. It was impressive, as with all Blizzard games. If the game play was half as good as the graphics, we should have a winner. That’s when the cold water hit.

Had a conversation with a colleague of mine the other day about games. The topic turned to World of Warcraft, a massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) by Blizzard. I’ve read the descriptions and reviews, followed its development over the years, and kept updated on the latest news. Basically, I’ve done everything short of actually playing the game! The conversation piqued my interest enough that I wanted to play, or at the very least try the game.

Civilization Wars is a custom Warcraft 3 map created by Dangine and based on the Civilization turn based classic strategy game by Sid Meier. A new version (2.09) was released on 2nd December 2007 2008 (Edit: lol x 2) 2009 (Edit: lol).

Finally managed to convince WL to allow me to purchase a Nintendo Wii. Headed over to Sungai Wang last over the weekend with a wedge of cash in the back pocket, looking for a unit. The hunt ended rather abruptly when they shop owner informed me that the new batch of Wii from Nintendo comes with a new motherboard and couldn’t be mod.
