After all the build up and hype about Air Asia flying long haul, travelers will finally get a chance to fly Air Asia to Gold Coast Australia. Over the weekend, bargain hunters will be able to reserve tickets for flights between the LCCT Kuala Lumpur and Gold Coast. The tickets are valid for the travel period between 2nd November to 14th November 2007. Fares go from as low as RM50.00 (exclusive of tax and surcharges).

The Mid Autumn Festival (中秋节 also known as the Mooncake Festival and Lantern Festival) is just around the corner. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese Lunar calendar (which falls on 25th September for 2007). It is a major celebration in the Chinese calendar and community. In Malaysia, many events are organised to celebrate the occasion. One such event is the Mid Autumn Festival held annually along the sandy strip of Teluk Chempedak.

Between 11 September 2007 to 16 September 2007, travelers will be able to reserve flight tickets from AirAsia from as low as RM0.88. Reserved tickets are valid for the travel period between 8 January 2007 to 30 June 2008. This Happy 2008 promotion is in line with AirAsia celebration for winning SkyTrax’s award for the Best Low Cost Airline in Asia 2007.

The second coming of MATTA Fair 2007 is just around the corner. Starting on the 7th September 2007, it is scheduled to run for three days ending 9th September 2007. Under the supervision of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), the travel fair brings together and showcases a comprehensive range of travel and holiday products from across the globe.

As predicted, MAS has extended the duration of their Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair 2007 through to next week, 12th February 2007. The fair was originally scheduled to end today (6th February 2007).

Just a few quick updates. I just got back from a family vacation to Bangkok about an hour ago. The Air Asia flight landed at 11.30pm and it took us half an hour to collect our luggage and pass customs. By that time, the 2007 Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair (MATF 2007) had already begun.
